Philadelphia Area Welsh Places of Interest
Built as a tobacco plantation by a Welsh Quaker named Rowland Ellis in 1704. Also home to Charles Thomson, the first and only Secretary to the Continental and Confederation Congresses. The restored 1704 house and large park are open to the public as a cultural resource.
Reflecting the lifestyle of the early Welsh pioneers of Pennsylvania, the Morgan Log House is a meticulously restored example of early domestic architecture. Originally the home of Daniel Boone's grandfather, Edward Morgan, a Welsh Quaker.
