Here are some additional notes from Miyuchan about the tweeter kit installation . The notes are from Bing Chen's excellent CR-V Information Xchange.

wh00p! tweeters installed at last (long and with pictures)
by miyuchan

i took a day off yesterday to install my tweeters. i was anticipating this to be an all-day task (since i'm not all that handy with noncomputer related stuff) but it took only 1.2 hours.

here's a few comments to add to Karl's instructions (which can be found at http://members.macconnect.com/users/k/karl/crvtweeter.html)

1) the most difficult part for me was one of the first steps: i had a heck of a time removing the door lock. after i got the self tapping screw out, i tugged on that darn handle for ~15 minutes before i found out i was supposed to slide it away from the door hinge.

once you slide it, it pops right off the door and you can access the rod and wiring behind it.

2) the next tip i can offer is how to get the mirror mount cover off. I found pulling at the very top of the triangle down and toward you pops them right off.

(note the weird gap between the top of the black triangle piece of plastic and the weather stripping on the window. it's not that way on my passenger side and after i took this picture i fiddled with the cover for some time before pulling the weather stripping out of its channel and reinstalling it 3/8" closer).

3) after a hellish experience with the sticky goopy stuff on the driver's side door, i got clever on the passenger side and installed the tweeter wiring from the top of the plastic liner

dunno if this would work if you have large hands, but i found it easy to snake my hand down the top of the plastic liner and only disturb a small segment of goo. that grey wrapped telephone jack-looking-thingy is the connector for the tweeter wiring that i had just installed.

4) one thing to watch for when putting the door panel back on: make sure you've threaded the door/window wiring back through the hole.

like a dolt, i didn't check that first and had to -uninstall- my driver's side panel after i had screwed all the fasteners back in, pull the wire back into reach and reattach the panel. arggh!

finally, full credit must go to Karl's most excellent instructions and photos, which are perfect compliment to Honda's install sheets. For those geeky enough, i fully recommend using a wireless LAN (in this case fed by a DSL line) and a laptop for those times when you feel compelled to websurf in your garage 60 feet from the nearest jack.

oh yeah, they sound pretty good. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination but the tweeters really help pull the sound out above your ankles.
