The US market 1998 Honda CR-V EX model brought about a change in the way the rear seats fold backward. A lever unlocks the seat base allowing the back to swing up and lock in place. While the extra clearance doesn't allow the seatback to recline completely, it does allow the setback to recline further than other models.
