Honda CR-V Webasto Starlite VII

Review

Had a sunroof installed, a Webasto Starlite ($1299 from Rocky Mountain Sunroof). I believe this is the model VII. On this one the glass slides in under the roof. There was another model, the VI, I believe, which angles the glass up and above the roof when it slides back (definately would not clear the roof rack crossbars). They wanted $899 for it.

There is an interior sliding cover, which matches the grey headliner. The window is controled by a single small button. Push once to open, once to close, and once for the vent position. If you want it to stop in any position, just pust the button a second time. The sunroof automatically closes a few seconds after the ignition is turned off. If you want the glass to stay open, pushing the control button will stop its movement.

I estimate the sunroof only reduced the headroom about an 1".

Here are my thoughts about the sunroof one year later...

I like the sunroof and believe it was a good addition. It lets in lots of light (my friend's non-sunroof CR-V seems dark and closed-in) and fresh air in the summer. Crusing though the mountains in the summer with the sunroof open is a real treat.

Other than the price, the negatives are:
