CARCASS has split up already.
The reason seems not to be understandable to me 'cos they create so marvelous
music. Their music is so-called "Death Metal," but their melody
line, which remarkably changed in the album "Heartwork," is unforgettable
to stick to your ears.

Carcass started in Riverpool, U.K., with the
original line-ups; Bill Steer(G), Jeff Walker (B & Vo) and ken Owen
(Ds). The trio band was basically a side project of Bill Steer of Napalm
Death, but when they released the 2nd album, "Symphonies of Sickness,"
Bill withdrew from Napalm Death to devote to
Carcass more. In 1991, Michael Amott (ex-Carnage and now Arch Ememy) from Sweden joined to the band, and
they released the 3rd album and, in 1992, they toured in Europe with Cathedral,
Entombed, and Confessor. (These bands also released an album "Gods
of Grind" together.) Carcass signed to Columbia Records following Heartwork. An ex-Devoid guitarist Carlo Regadas also joined the band. After releasing the album, Steer departed from the band in late 1995 due to its commercialism. They disbanded in 1996. In the year, their last album was released. Walker and Owen went on to form Black Star.
