HELMET

You know them, probably. No? Dry and tight, yah. Their "junk" and "core" produce aggressive noise sounds. Who can resist its destractive beats?!

• Peter (G) quit Helmet, and Chris Traynor joined them instead.

• ***Live Report***
  I went to their show in March in 1998, and they were much more sophisticated than when first I saw them, I thought. They were pretty straight-forward rockers, and the show was very concentrated and powerful. In addition, I found some good-old-days heavy metal feeling from their sounds. They are not only the alternative up-to-date band but also rooted firmly from good hard music.

HELMET started in 80s in New York. In 1989, they contracted with "Amphetamine Reptile," a Minneapolis lebel, and debuted to release the first single "Born Annoying b/w Rumble." In 1990, the first album "Strap It On" was released, and they expanded to tour in Europe. In 1992, they got contract with a major lebel "Interscope," and the final indie single "In The Meantime b/w No Nicky No" was released on March. Then, the 2nd album "Meantime" was released under Interscope, and their popularity has been grown. The 3rd album "Betty" established huge sales and attracted more kids. In 1997, the 4th album entitled "Aftertaste" was released from Interscope. As mentioned above, the guitarist Peter quit HELMET, and new guitarist Chris played on tour. Then, in the summer of 1998 (probably), Helmet has gone forever.
