MESHUGGAH

They are from Sweden. Their sound can be described as the hard "Death" core metal but also the thrash (?) metal. Their music contains lots of aspects of music; thrash, death, jazz, progressive, and so on. (Someone said so.) Their music may sound something like Pantera-meets-Sepultura thing (I hate to say,though.) or such a kind which produces extremely heavy and powerful pressure to your soul by its strong beat. The higher and stronger urge of the roar gushes from the intense flood of their own sound. Such a heavy and peculiar din exists only on their music, so once you get trapped by their sound, you can find nothing cooler than theirs!! You can't stand without moshing.

MESHUGGAH started in 1987 in Umea, Sweden, led by Fredrik Thordendal (G). In 1990, the former drummer was replaced by Tomas Haake. Then, they released their first full album "Contradictions Collapse" under a German lebel "Nuclear Blast." (*They'd already released the first self-titled mini album before releasing the first full one.) After the first album release, Marten (G) joined the band in 1992. In 1994, a mini album "None" and, in 1995, "Destroy Erase Improve" were released with the new lineup.
